lien | Dungupeyem: Morphological analyzer and generator for Mapudungun

  • dungu: word, language, subject.
  • pe: indicates temporal and/or physical proximity to the facts.
  • ye: indicates a constant feature.
  • m: the mark of the instrumental nominal verb, indicates instrument or location.

The translation could be something like "tool frequently used to do something with language", to us: "language tool".

Dungupeyem is a morphological analyzer and generator for Mapudungun builded with final state transducers, using the algorithms developed by Mans Hulden for his FOMA project. (https://code.google.com/archive/p/foma/), an open source application to compile finite state transducers.

The rules generated for Dungupeyem and the tags in use are based on the description and study of Mapudungun done by Dr. Ineke Smeets and published on her book "A Grammar of Mapuche".
