On March 23, 2019, The Bukidnon State University, represented by Mr. George Gorby E. Rubio, a Bukidnon Cultural Study instructor conducted an event highlighting the musicality of the Indigenous people of Bukidnon through the integration of western style genre (Blues, , and etc.).
The first song performed by Mr. Rubio was the song "Egbagiyuwan E'k Ingud Keumew Nu'k Manama" accompanied by the following students: Mr. Vanixt James Adolfo, Mr. Dulius Antogon, and Mr. Gilbert Mance. The song was about giving praise to the creator for the abundance during harvest seasons. The song was presented in Binukid Language.
Through this event, the access of knowledge of the Binukid Culture was relatively easy as it was portrayed in the mainstream style of musicality. Interest of the Binukid language was great as it intrigued viewers who had zero knowledge of the language that was being played in a style that could relate to their own interest in music (mostly modern). This gave a positive view especially for IP musicians to create their own music in modern style using the Binukid language to further highlight their culture as well as the hopes of making the language mainstream throughout their songs.
