Elevating Voices: Telangana Tribal Open Knowledge Conference

The Telangana Tribal Open Knowledge Conference aims to unite stakeholders, experts, and community members to champion the conservation and rejuvenation of indigenous languages and cultures, with a particular emphasis on Telugu, Adilabadi Gondi, Lambadi, and Southeastern Kolami languages. The conference will delve into strategies to harness technology, open knowledge, and digital platforms to empower tribal communities, foster economic opportunities, and facilitate global access to knowledge, all while safeguarding linguistic diversity. In partnership with the Wikimedia Foundation, the conference seeks to leverage the vast resources and collaborative platforms offered by Wikimedia projects to amplify the voices of tribal communities, preserve their linguistic and cultural heritage, and ensure their contributions to the world’s knowledge ecosystem are recognized and accessible to all.

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads. While work is underway to provide an updated solution, the Secretariat of IDIL 2022–2032 remains available for any inquiries at: indigenous.languages@unesco.org.
