Sami languages week_43_giällakafea_Gávtjávriene

Due to the fact that week 43 was designated as a giellavahkku / language week at the language conference, Tromsö Feb 2019, the Sami language week was noted in both Norway, Finland and Sweden at the same time. The Language Center invited all Sami administrative municipalities via e-mail to pay attention in various ways to the language week and to organize events in the respective municipalities, which was also done. Fairy tales at the libraries and Sami elements in schools, preschools and the elderly were held this week. The Language Center appointed five administrative municipalities through a draw where language cafes were arranged together with pre-administrative municipalities. The appointed administrative municipalities were Stockholm, Umeå, Sorsele / Ammarnäs, Arvidsjaur and Kiruna. In conjunction with the language café in Umeå, a meeting was also combined with students (high school, high school, some middle school) who read Sami in and via Lycksele and Umeå municipalities. The content of the language cafes was different in each place and locally adapted. The number that came to Giellakáfea was on average 15.
