Republican Olympiad of schoolchildren on the history of Ossetia

On 10 December, more than a hundred eighth-graders from across the republic gathered at the Vershina educational centre.

The children performed tasks developed by the Institute of History and Archaeology of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. The Olympiad was organised as part of the action plan for the International Decade of Indigenous Languages to be held in North Ossetia-Alania in 2024-2032. The Olympiad aims to identify gifted and talented students with in-depth knowledge of Ossetian history and to foster a sustained interest in studying the history of our region. The Olympiad was attended by 8th grade students from schools of the republic. The duration of the Olympiad was 90 minutes.

The tasks for the Olympiad were developed by the Director of the Institute of History and Archaeology R.S. Bzarov. The tasks are presented in the form of tests, 50 questions in total, which cover different periods of Ossetian history. At the end of the Olympiad, an absolute winner and 10 prize-winners were determined.
