Festival of Taste “Thousand and One Pilafs”

The city hippodrome hosted the Thousand and One Pilaf interethnic festival held in honor of the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha. The event was organized by the public organization “Commonwealth of Uzbeks” with the support of various national and cultural centers of Omsk.

“The guests of the festival attended master classes on cooking pilaf from the chefs and learned the secrets of cooking and serving this beloved dish, tasted it, and also watched a concert program that charged them with a good mood. Each hostess took away from the festival an original recipe for cooking Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Kokand, Andijan and other types of pilaf. The main sporting events of the event were wrestling competitions and a horse race,” said Bahrombek Yusupov, president of the NGO Commonwealth of Uzbeks.
