Congreso Internacional de Educación: Lenguas Indígenas, Territorios del Saber, Multilingüismo e Interculturalidad

The degree of Intercultural Bilingual Education at Universidad Nacional de Educación del Ecuador UNAE, the National Council on the Equality of Peoples and Nationalities, the Secretariat of the Intercultural Bilingual Education System (SEIB), the Secretariat for the Higher Education, Sciences, Technologies and Innovation (SENESCYT), Universidad de Cuenca, the Interculturality Lab of the Latino American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO-Ecuador), the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities from Ecuador (CONAIE) and the UNESCO Office in Quito and Representation for Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela propose the First International Congress: Education, Indigenous Languages, Knowledge Territories and Interculturality (Primer Congreso Internacional: Educación, Lenguas Indígenas, Territorios del Saber e Interculturalidad).

The congress aims to offer a preliminary answer to the growing lost of interest on indigenous language learning both in the national and international context, and the consequences associated with the lost of sense of the different cultural conceptions of life of the different communitites, their practices in contact with the nature, the world and the incidence of it in the conception of education.

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads. While work is underway to provide an updated solution, the Secretariat of IDIL 2022–2032 remains available for any inquiries at: indigenous.languages@unesco.org.
