A workshop “Karelian Runes: Tradition and modernity” will be held in Petrozavodsk.

The event will be held on June 9 on the eve of the Karelian Rune Day.

At the seminar, participants:
– will find out whether Karelian rune singers held hands,
– will find elements of folk tales in Kalevala,
– will hear Karelian runes, Kalevala yoigs, instrumental treatments of runic themes performed by the “Istoki” ensemble,
– will feel like real rune singers by taking part in a competition of Karelian rune performers,
– will play the ethno-game “Калевала.ru “.

The winners of the creative contest “In search of the Main Rune” will also be announced.
