A presentation of “Nyavremlam Poslangne Unangki Monschat” by Zinaida Longortova

The village of Azovy, Shuryshkarsky district – the homeland of a character of the book – hosted a presentation of “Nyavremlam Poslangne Unangki Monschat” by Zinaida Longortova.

The meeting began with a conversation about the preservation of the native and endangered languages and the importance of transferring intangible cultural heritage to the younger generation. The discussion continued in the Khanty language.

People from the village of Azovy remember grandmother Poslangne from the Shulgin family very well. That was where her future husband took her to the Synsky region. They witnessed the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The husband of Anastasia Nikolaevna, Yegor Maksimovich, participated in the Stalingrad and Leningrad battles.

The meeting ended with the movie “Khon Yush. The Way from the Ob”. The Great Patriotic War left no one indifferent.

The event took place within the framework of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages and the International Day of Indigenous Peoples.
