A presentation of a book “Nyavremlam Poslangne Unangki Monschat” by Zinaida Longortova

The House of Culture of the village of Ovgort, Shuryshkarsky district, hosted the holiday of the native language. Zinaida Longortova, a writer and a director, held a meeting with the residents of the village.

At the meeting, the author presented her book “Nyavramlam Poslangne Unangki Monschat”. The book includes fairy tales told in the Khanty language by Anastasia Longortova, a resident of the village of Ovgort and a relative of the author. Grandchildren, relatives and friends of the narrator attended the meeting.

The book includes eighteen fairy tales about heroes, monsters, and beauties. In these fairy tales, the author makes fun of such human vices as laziness, greed, envy, stupidity, cowardice. The audience asked how the work with the storyteller went, who did the illustrations, where they could read other books of the author. Each participant of the presentation received a book from the author as a gift.

In addition, the audience watched Zinaida Longortova’s movie “Hon Yush. The Way from The Ob”. The film was shot in two languages: Russian and Khanty. The author told about the shooting process and the fate of the characters. The participants recognized the faces of their fellow countrymen on the screen.

The event took place within the framework of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages and the International Day of Indigenous Peoples.
