9th International Conference on Modern Greek Dialects and Linguistic Theory

The Laboratory of Modern Greek Dialects of the University of Patras Greece, the Laboratory for Greek Dialectology of the Ohio State University and the Tsakonian Archives of the Community of Leonidio will be holding the 9th International Conference on Modern Greek Dialects and Linguistic Theory (MGDLT9), to take place on September 18-20, 2020, at the Conference and Cultural Centre of Leonidio (Fabrica of Culture), in Leonidio, Arcadia Greece. The conference will focus on Modern Greek dialects and linguistic theory, dialectal variation, and Greek linguistic heritage with a special segment on Tsakonian, the only dialect in the world to have survived from Ancient Doric Greek.  Information about the conference can be found on the website: http://www.tsakonianarchives.gr/mgdlt9/

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads. While work is underway to provide an updated solution, the Secretariat of IDIL 2022–2032 remains available for any inquiries at: indigenous.languages@unesco.org.
