Тhe Regional Children’s Competition of the Tatar song “Yana Yoldyz – New Star”
According to the All-Russian census of 2020, 27,470 Tatars live in the Omsk region. This is the fourth largest nation in the region. The Tatars of the Omsk region are local Siberian Tatars, early migrants or Bukharans and late settlers. The ancient and vibrant culture of the Tatar ethnos has firmly entered the treasury of world culture and civilization.
In order to promote the preservation and development of the traditional culture of the Tatars of the Omsk Irtysh region, to promote the creative growth of young performers, to improve their professional skills and artistic taste, to identify new performing forces in the Omsk Region, the Regional Children’s Competition of the Tatar song “Yana Yoldyz – New Star” will be held on June 23, 2023.
The competition consists of 3 rounds. I (selective) round – preliminary selection is carried out by cultural institutions of the municipal districts of the Omsk region. The winners of the 1st round are sent by the cultural authorities of the municipal districts of the Omsk region to participate in the 2nd round of the competition. II (qualifying) and III (final) rounds are held in the city of Omsk and on the territory of one of the municipal districts of the Omsk region (by decision of the founder and organizers).
In the competition, amateur artists compete in two nominations: “Solo singing” and “Vocal ensemble”, in 2 age categories – from 5 to 10 years old and from 11 to 16 years old.
Traditionally, the contestants are evaluated by two juries – professional and honorary. The jury evaluates the program of the contestants, consisting of 2 numbers. A mandatory requirement is the performance of works in the Tatar language and the presence of the Tatar national costume.
The winners of the competition are awarded with diplomas and memorable gifts. The number of participants in the competition is growing every year, new creative talents are revealed, the performing skills of the contestants are improving.
The regional children’s competition of the Tatar song “Yana Yoldyz – New Star” is held according to the program of the Regional Festival of National Cultures “Unification” 1 time in 2 years.
