International conference for teachers and students called ‘Kosta Khetagurov in the context of modern national education’

On the 18th of October on the basis of the North Ossetian Republican Institute for Advanced Training of Education Workers an international conference for teachers and students ‘Kosta Khetagurov in the context of modern national education’ was held, dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the birth of the classic of Ossetian literature Kosta Khetagurov.

The aim of the Conference was to raise interest in the work of the founder of Ossetian literature and the Ossetian literary language, K.L. Khetagurov, and to disseminate effective pedagogical experience in teaching the Ossetian language and literature.

The Conference was attended by the Minister of Education and Science E.M. Alibekova, Director of FGBUN FSC ‘Vladikavkaz Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ A.L. Chibirov, Head of the Department of National Education and Language Policy of the Ministry of Education and Science I. A. Nakusova, and I. A. Nakusova. A. Nakusova, Acting Head of the Research Department ‘Centre for Scytho-Alanian Studies’ T.K. Salbiev, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Ossetian Philology of SOGU E.T. Gutieva, as well as delegates from Karachay-Cherkessia and South Ossetia.

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads. While work is underway to provide an updated solution, the Secretariat of IDIL 2022–2032 remains available for any inquiries at: indigenous.languages@unesco.org.
