LAUNCHING OF LINDUK NURSERY RHYMES OF INDIGENOUS MOTHER TONGUES / PELANCARAN LINDUK NURSERY RHYMES BAHASA IBUNDA

The launch of Linduk Nursery Rhymes, set for 18 October 2024, marks a major stride toward revitalizing the Kadazandusun language among children. Thanks to the generous backing of Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR), which has been steadfast in supporting cultural initiatives, Linduk Studio is able to breathe life into indigenous language education. Their support highlights a broader commitment to preserving and celebrating Malaysia’s diverse cultural heritage.

As part of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL), this project exemplifies how media and technology can be powerful tools for language learning. The playful yet educational format of these nursery rhymes captures children’s imaginations and integrates language acquisition seamlessly into their everyday lives. In this digital age, platforms like Linduk Studio make indigenous languages more accessible, not just for classrooms, but for homes and community learning centers, turning them into vibrant hubs of cultural transmission.

By embracing video and animation, Linduk Studio leverages modern technology to reach new generations, ensuring that the richness of indigenous languages is not only preserved but also celebrated. This approach aligns perfectly with the goals of IDIL, promoting the survival of mother tongues in ways that resonate with children and families in today’s connected world. “Let technology be the bridge that connects our children to the vibrant legacy of their mother tongues.”
