The final stage of the Regional festival-competition “Karelian Fairy Tale” took place in the Republic of Karelia

The festival is aimed at preserving, developing and using the Karelian language, attracting the interest of children and youth in the language and traditional culture of Karelians.

In total, 21 teams from Pryazhinsky, Olonetsky, Kalevalsky, Loukhsky, Muezersky districts of the Republic of Karelia, Petrozavodsk, as well as the Tver region took part in the festival-competition.

At the second and final stage, the jury reviewed 7 theatrical productions in the Karelian language and determined the winners and prize-winners of the competition:
– The Grand Prix of the Karelian Fairy Tale festival-competition was awarded to the MIX-theater from the village of Ilyinsky, Olonetsky district.
– The diploma of the first degree was received by students of the 4th”A” class of the Essoila secondary school of the Pryazhinsky district.
– The II degree diploma was awarded to the folklore ensemble “Veretentse”, village of Essoila, Pryazhinsky district.
– Diploma of the III degree from the creative collective “Children of the North”, Muezersky village, Muezersky district.

The festival is organized and conducted by the Regional Public Organization “Union of the Karelian People” within the framework of the “Karelian Ethnocluster”-project with the support of the Grant Fund of the Head of the Republic of Karelia.
