“What Makes Us Human”: Launching of the publication in Spanish and Mapuzugun

On August 9th at 6 p.m., in the context of the International Day of Indigenous Peoples, UNESCO and the Chilean publisher Planeta Sostenible will launch the co-edition of the book “What Makes Us Human: A Book on the Value of Linguistic Diversity”. The event will take place at the Cultural Center La Moneda and will count on the presence of representatives from UNESCO, the Ministry of Education, the publishing house Planeta Sostenible, and the translator and traditional educator Nevenca Cayullán.

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads.
