Day of the Chuvash language dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the creation of the Chuvash alphabet

Togliatti celebrated the Day of the Chuvash language, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the creation of the Chuvash alphabet.
April 25 is the Day of the Chuvash language, and the holiday is timed to coincide with the birthday of the outstanding cultural figure and educator of the Chuvash people, teacher, organizer of public schools, creator of modern Chuvash writing and alphabet, translator Ivan Yakovlevich Yakovlev.
The significant date was adopted by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Chuvash Republic on April 9, 1992.

Today, on April 23, a festive event dedicated to the Day of the Chuvash Language was held in the House of Friendship of Peoples, organized by the Chuvash National Cultural Autonomy of the city of Chuvash. Tolyatti with the support of the Public Relations Department.

At the event, they remembered Ivan Yakovlevich Yakovlev, who actually created the national script by adding four letters specific to this language to the Chuvash alphabet, about famous people who created and spoke the Chuvash language, the presentation was prepared and presented by Library No. 2 “Sources” of Togliatti.

The Chuvash folk culture is diverse and presented in bright colors by the participants of the event in poems, songs, dances, games, fairy tales.
National unique flavor in the performance of each participant:
– Chuvash Folklore Ensemble “Teley” (artistic director Svetlana Radionova);
– Folk Chuvash ensemble “Shanchak” (artistic director Natalya Panfilenko);
– Children’s team-satellite “Chevle”
(artistic director Natalia Panfilenko);
– Sunday school student of the Chuvash autonomy Anyuta Vasilyeva;
– Creative laboratory “Divo” (staging of the Chuvash fairy tale “Burning Fire”);
– Chuvash folklore ensemble “Asamat”, Zhigulevsk (art director Galina Sandreykina);
– Chuvash folklore ensemble “Shurampus”, Povolzhsky village (artistic director Lyudmila Sibulatova);
– The family duet of Vladimir and Zinaida Levukov “Helhem”.

At the event, one could also get acquainted with literary publications in the Chuvash and Russian languages of the writer and poet – Vladimir Levukov.
